Can acid reflux cause hair loss?

I've been dealing with chronic acid reflux for the past year, and I've also noticed my hair thinning quite a lot recently. My mother told me digestion issues can sometimes affect hair health. Is it possible my acid reflux is causing this hair loss?

I noticed hair fall when my acidity was bad, and I was worried about expensive dermatologists. It turns out poor nutrient absorption due to chronic reflux can cause hair loss. Instead of buying costly hair serums, a simple blood test for vitamins and a budget-friendly consultation with a general doctor is a much better plan.

My doctor explained that acid reflux itself doesn't directly damage hair follicles. However, chronic GERD can lead to poor absorption of key nutrients like zinc, iron, and B-vitamins, which are essential for hair growth. He recommended treating the gut first before starting any hair loss treatments.

I faced this exact issue last year. Stress was causing both my severe acidity and my massive hair fall. Focus on managing your stress, eat balanced meals, and fix your sleep cycle first; once your digestion improves, your hair health will automatically bounce back.

I've been losing so much hair lately and my acidity is also at an all-time high, and it's making me so anxious. Does anyone else feel like their hair gets thinner when their stomach is upset? I really hope there is a way to stop this.

My mother always said that poor digestion and stomach heat can lead to hair fall. While using home-made amla oil helps hair health, my doctor explained that chronic reflux often stems from poor nutrition or gut issues which directly affect hair. Please consult a doctor to fix the root cause.
