Can abdominal x ray show cancer?

I had an X-ray recently for some persistent stomach pain, but the doctor didn't find anything significant. My uncle passed away from cancer, so I'm a bit worried about everything. Can an abdominal X-ray actually show cancer?

Hello, I am new here and a bit nervous. From what I read, basic X-rays mostly show bones and gas, not soft tissues like tumors. Can anyone tell me if a doctor would usually suggest a CT scan instead if they suspect something serious?

I understand your worry, dear. A simple X-ray is usually just for finding blockages or gas, it doesn't clearly show cancer. Instead of stressing and trying home remedies, it is much better to get proper scans done at a hospital.

I go to a reputed hospital in Mumbai, and my doctor told me that abdominal X-rays are very limited. They are mostly for emergency blockages or kidney stones, not for screening cancer. You must ask your doctor clearly to prescribe a CT scan or MRI if that's the concern.

Usually, I prefer using home remedies for stomach bloating and keeping my diet simple. But when it comes to serious things like cancer, an X-ray is simply not enough to show anything clearly. You must visit a specialist and get advanced scans done.

I just went through a major abdominal issue last month. My initial X-ray only showed some bowel gas but missed the actual growth. It was only when they did a contrast CT scan that they found the real problem, so definitely don't rely on just an X-ray.

With my high BP, I have to get regular checkups done. An abdominal X-ray is too basic to detect cancer cells or tumors clearly. It's always better to get comprehensive blood tests and proper imaging like a CT scan done during your routine health checks.

The fear of waiting for these test results is honestly the hardest part, my heart goes out to you. Please know that a normal X-ray doesn't rule out cancer, nor is it the right tool to find it. Talk to your doctor to ease your mind and get the right diagnostic plan.
