Can a yeast infection cause hair loss?

My hair has been falling out a lot lately, which is unusual for me. I'm also dealing with a recurrent yeast infection, so I'm wondering if there's a connection. Can a yeast infection cause hair loss?

I had a fungal scalp infection last year and my hair started falling out in patches. If the yeast infection is actually on your scalp, like severe dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis, then yes, it can cause hair loss. Otherwise, a regular gut or vaginal yeast infection won't affect your hair.

Losing hair while dealing with an infection is so emotionally draining, I completely feel your pain. It makes you feel so low about your body. But don't lose heart, once the infection is treated and your stress levels go down, your hair will grow back.

I have been dealing with a stubborn yeast infection and suddenly noticing so much hair fall too. I am super worried if they are connected. Has anyone else experienced their hair thinning out during a fungal infection flare-up?

Nahi beta, aam taur par niche ka yeast infection hone se baal nahi jhadte. Baal jhadna toh kamzori, kharab paani ya chinta ki wajah se hota hai. Tum thoda achha khao, dahi khao aur man halka rakho, sab theek ho jayega.

A systemic yeast issue or severe scalp fungus can sometimes weaken hair roots. However, overall hair fall is usually linked to poor lifestyle, stress, or thyroid and BP issues. Get a full blood checkup done to check your vitamin levels.

If it is a localized scalp yeast infection, it definitely can cause hair shedding. You should log your daily water intake, stress levels, and maybe track your sleep. Try using an anti-fungal shampoo with ketoconazole after asking a dermatologist.
