Can a woman get pregnant during pregnancy?

My bhabhi told me something strange the other day about getting pregnant when you're already pregnant. I'm in my second trimester, and now I'm a bit confused and worried. Is it actually possible to conceive again while already carrying a baby?

I was just reading about this the other day because of some random article! It is called superfetation, and apparently, it is extremely rare in humans but theoretically possible. Nature is so weird sometimes, but for 99.9% of women, hormones shut down the ovulation process once you get pregnant.

Oh wow, this is a classic biology mystery! 😅 Actually, once you are pregnant, your body stops releasing eggs, so it is super rare. But yes, science says it can technically happen in some crazy exceptional cases! Hope this clears up your curiosity!

When my wife was pregnant, we had so many random questions like this. We go to a very reputed hospital in Delhi and our doctor always tells us not to trust random internet theories. If you have any specific concerns about your pregnancy cycle, just ask your OB-GYN clearly during your next scan.

Hello dear. Practically speaking, no, you don't need to worry about this. Once a woman conceives, the body's hormonal system completely changes to protect the growing baby and stops releasing new eggs. It's a beautiful, safe system designed by nature so we can focus on one baby at a time.

Oh god, one pregnancy is enough to make you forget what sleep feels like, don't even make me think about a double pregnancy! Thankfully, the body has a natural lock system that stops ovulation. Trust me, you do not want to manage two different due dates at once anyway.
