Can a tumor cause weight gain?

I have been gaining weight unexpectedly for the past year, even though my diet and activity levels haven't changed much. My friend mentioned that sometimes a tumor can cause weight gain. Is this actually true?

My uncle had some sudden weight gain and we thought it was just diet, but our doctor advised a scan. It turned out to be a benign thyroid tumor affecting his metabolism. It is always best to trust a doctor's tests rather than trying home remedies for sudden body changes.

I really understand how scary it is to see your body changing and worry about things like tumors. When I gained sudden weight, I blamed myself emotionally, but certain hormonal tumors can actually cause it. Please don't beat yourself up, just get a professional checkup.

Yes, certain tumors like adrenal or pituitary tumors can mess with your cortisol levels and cause rapid weight gain, especially around the face and stomach. I have seen many people in this forum deal with this, and once treated, the weight returns to normal. Do get evaluated by an endocrinologist.

Arey, my belly is growing and I am secretly hoping it's some lazy hormone tumor instead of all the samosas I eat! Jokes apart, yes, tumors affecting thyroid or adrenal glands can definitely slow down your metabolism and cause weight gain. Better get it checked.

Drinking warm lemon water and eating fresh ginger can help with general digestion and mild bloating. However, if there is a tumor causing rapid weight gain, no home remedy can fix that. You must go to a hospital and get a proper diagnosis from a specialist.

Bro, yes, actually some tumors release hormones that make your body store fat or retain a lot of water. It is not just about eating too much. If u are gaining weight suddenly without any diet change, definitely get a blood test done.

Look, if you are gaining unexplained weight despite a normal diet, stop wasting time on Google. Certain tumors like endocrine ones can completely disrupt your metabolism. Go to an endocrinologist, get the blood work done, and find out the actual reason.
