Can a regular blood test detect pregnancy?

My period is late by a few days and I'm a bit anxious. I usually get a full body check-up done every year, including some basic blood tests. I was wondering, if I go for my regular blood test, can that reveal if I'm pregnant? I'd rather not go for a separate test just yet.

A standard routine blood test like a CBC won't check for pregnancy. You specifically need to ask the lab for a Beta-hCG blood test, which is highly accurate. It's best to talk to a doctor who can write down the correct test for you.

Please don't delay or guess with basic tests. I once ignored my symptoms and delayed getting the right tests done, which caused complications later. Go to a doctor and get the specific Beta-hCG blood test prescribed so you know for sure.

Bro, a normal blood checkup won't show it. My partner and I went through this panic last year. You have to ask specifically for the hCG blood test, otherwise, they won't even test for pregnancy in a regular blood report.

Haan, regular blood test mein automatic pregnancy nahi aati na. Uske liye alag se Beta-hCG test likhwana padta hai doctor se. Toh ek baar doctor se mil lo, woh sahi test bata denge aur tension khatam ho jayegi.

With my PCOS, my periods are always late so I've researched this a lot. Normal blood tests don't detect pregnancy automatically. You have to get a specific hCG blood test or just do a simple home urine test first, then consult your gynecologist.

No, a routine complete blood count or metabolic panel will not detect pregnancy. You require a specific serum beta-hCG test, which measures the pregnancy hormone. I highly recommend consulting a gynecologist to guide you on the next steps.

Beta, you can start with a simple home urine test strip first thing in the morning; it is very easy and reliable. For a blood test, a general checkup won't work, you need the specific pregnancy hormone blood test done through a doctor's clinic.
