Can a diseased gallbladder cause weight gain?

I've been having issues with my gallbladder recently, and I've also noticed a significant weight gain without any changes to my diet. Is there a connection, can a diseased gallbladder actually cause weight gain?

Hey, don't stress too much about the weight gain right now! When the gallbladder isn't working well, digesting fats becomes super hard, which can cause bloating and make you feel heavier than you are. Focus on getting healthy first, weight can be managed later.

Usually, gallbladder issues cause weight loss because of nausea and avoiding fatty foods. However, the resulting poor digestion, severe bloating, and metabolic slowdown can sometimes make people gain weight or look swollen. Have you had an ultrasound done yet?

My aunt had gallbladder stones and she actually gained a bit of weight because she couldn't exercise due to the constant pain and fatigue. Plus, the bloating made her tummy look really big. Once she got treated, she felt way better.

Beta, when the bile flow is disturbed, our digestive fire or 'agni' becomes weak. This can cause heaviness and swelling in the body. Drink warm water with a little lemon or ginger juice, but please get a doctor's opinion for any gallbladder trouble.

If the gallbladder is not working, digesting fatty foods is very tough. The best practical solution is to immediately stop eating outside fried food, ghee, and heavy sweets. Eat simple boiled food, dal, and khichdi to keep the stomach light.

Yes, poor fat metabolism can definitely cause digestive issues that mimic weight gain, like water retention and heavy bloating. Don't worry, just stick to a low-fat diet for now and consult a gastroenterologist. We will get this sorted out soon.

Man, not being able to digest food properly is a nightmare, especially when you love eating! If your gallbladder is acting up, your body can't process fats, leading to massive bloating that looks like weight gain. Time to switch from chole bhature to light salads for a bit.

I can only share what happened to me. Before my gallbladder surgery, I noticed I was gaining weight around my abdomen and felt constantly bloated no matter what I ate. Once the gallbladder was removed and my diet cleared up, the swelling went away.

Since I have PCOS, I know how frustrating hormonal and digestive weight gain can be. Gallbladder issues can slow down your entire digestive tract, causing fluid retention and bloating. It is best to consult a doctor to rule out any underlying metabolic issues.

Actually, gallbladder issues can cause metabolic changes, which might lead to unexpected weight gain or bloating. It is a very common complaint in our community. I highly recommend keeping a food diary to see which foods trigger discomfort.
