Can a baby get 101 fever from teething?

My 8-month-old is teething right now, and he's developed a fever of 101°F. My mother says it's normal with teething. Can teething really cause a fever that high?

My baby is also going through this phase and got a mild warm feeling. Can teething really cause the temperature to go up to 101, or is it usually some other infection? I am a bit confused.

Actually, studies show teething only causes a very slight rise in temperature, usually under 100.4. If it's hitting 101, it might be a mild viral infection. It’s always best to consult your pediatrician rather than assuming it's just teeth.

Our pediatrician told us that teething makes babies put everything in their mouth, which introduces bacteria and causes infections. So the 101 fever is likely from a mild bug, not directly from the tooth cutting through. He advised keeping chew toys sterile.

I know how terrifying it is to see 101 on the thermometer, your heart just sinks. It’s completely okay to feel anxious. Just give the baby some paracetamol if prescribed by your doc, and they will feel better soon.

Teething causes a lot of heat in the body. I used to gently rub a clean, damp cold cotton cloth over my baby's gums to soothe the irritation. Keep the baby calm and comfortable, but do consult a doctor if the fever stays.

Ho na, 101 fever dekh ke darr lagta hai. My doc told me teething can cause mild warmth, but 101 is usually a small infection from chewing dirty toys. Give them a cool teether to bite on, it helps a lot.

My son had 101 fever during his first tooth and we panicked. We kept him hydrated with breastmilk and did cool sponge baths on his forehead. Definitely keep a thermometer handy and check with your doc if it rises.
