Can 104 fever cause brain damage?

My son has a fever of 104 degrees Fahrenheit right now and we're trying our best to bring it down. My husband is extremely worried, saying such a high fever can cause brain damage. Is a fever this high really dangerous for the brain?

I was researching this because my cousin had a really high fever. Actually, most medical articles say that the fever itself doesn't cause brain damage unless it goes above 107 degrees, but 104 is still very high and needs urgent attention.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to see the thermometer hit 104; it can make any parent or patient panic instantly. While the brain itself is generally safe from damage at this temperature, a 104 fever is a major red flag that requires immediate medical care to find the cause.

Just reading '104 fever' makes my heart race. Has anyone else felt completely helpless trying to bring down such a high temperature with cold sponges? It is so scary, please seek medical help right away.

Please do not wait or try to manage this at home. A 104 fever is extremely high and can lead to severe dehydration or seizures, as we experienced with my child. You must take them to the doctor or hospital emergency room immediately.

My son's temperature hit 104 during a bad flu episode and we were absolutely terrified. The pediatrician reassured us that brain damage doesn't happen at this level, but we still had to keep him under close medical observation to bring it down safely.

It is very unlikely to cause brain damage, so try not to panic. But 104 is still a very high temperature, so please consult a doctor right away to be completely safe.

Hey, stay calm and don't panic about brain damage right now, as the body can handle this temperature without that happening. However, 104 is definitely a sign that you need to consult a doctor immediately or visit a clinic to get it brought down safely.

I once ignored a spiking high fever thinking it would just pass, and ended up collapsing from severe dehydration. Please don't take any chances with a 104 fever; get to a doctor or hospital immediately to get it checked.

To reassure you, the human brain is highly resilient and 104 degrees won't cause direct brain damage. However, because such a high fever can cause extreme lethargy, dehydration, or febrile seizures, you need to see a doctor immediately for proper fever reducers.

Beta, 104 bukhar bahut zyada hota hai. Dimaag ko asar nahi hota jaldi, par sharir kamzor ho jata hai bahut. Turant doctor paas jao aur thandey paani ki patti rakho sarr pe jab tak wahan pahuncho.
