Are utis common in pregnancy?

My daughter is expecting her first baby next year, and we're discussing all the precautions she needs to take. My neighbour mentioned that UTIs are a very common issue for pregnant women. Is this true in general, are they really that frequent during pregnancy?

Yes, beta, this is very common in expecting mothers. In our times also, many women faced it. Just make sure to drink plenty of water, maintain hygiene, and definitely show it to your doctor without any delay.

I had a UTI during my fifth month of pregnancy. It was really uncomfortable, but my doctor prescribed some pregnancy-safe antibiotics that helped me recover quickly. Drinking coconut water also gave me some relief from the burning sensation.

Since I already manage thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with any infection. UTIs are indeed common in pregnancy, but you must get regular urine tests done as advised by your doctor to ensure everything is on track.

My wife had to deal with this when she was pregnant. Along with the doctor's medicine, she kept drinking coconut water and eating fresh cucumbers to keep her system cool. It is very common, so just focus on staying hydrated.

I tried drinking barley water and cranberry juice when I had minor urinary burning, which did help soothe it. But during pregnancy, you should never take chances. Use these home tips only alongside the proper medicine your doctor gives.

Yes, physical and hormonal changes make them common. Staying active with light walks and keeping your hydration levels high is very important. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help flush out toxins naturally.

Yes, they are common. Avoid spicy foods and heavy sweets during this time as they can sometimes irritate the bladder. Stick to simple, home-cooked vegetarian meals and drink clean, warm water regularly.
