Are stretch marks sign of weight gain?

Since joining college, I've put on a little weight, and now I'm noticing these purplish lines appearing on my stomach and hips. My friend told me they are stretch marks because of the weight gain. Is this actually true?

Yes, they can be a sign when the body expands quickly. Please don't let it upset you, it is a very natural thing that happens to almost everyone.

Yes, rapid weight gain stretches the collagen in your skin, causing these marks. My fitness tracker showed a sudden spike in my weight last winter and that's exactly when I noticed them on my thighs. Keeping a track of your nutrition and slow, steady progress helps prevent sudden stretches.

Bro, my late-night munching and lack of sleep got me some extra kilos, and honestly, the stretch marks came along as free gifts. It is definitely because of the weight gain. At this point, I am just too tired to care about them, haha.

I got so stressed when I first saw them on my stomach, thinking it was some skin disease! But then I realized I had gained some weight during the exams. Don't worry, it is just your skin stretching, but if you feel very anxious you can always consult a dermatologist for peace of mind.

Haan, bilkul correct baat hai. Weight gain hone par skin stretch hoti hai toh yeh marks aa hi jaate hain. Isme darna kya hai na, almost sabko hote hain ghar pe.

Look, if you gain weight quickly, skin will stretch and leave marks. It is simple science, no need to make a big deal out of it. Just focus on eating healthy and keeping your weight stable, the marks will fade on their own.
