They do have a slightly lower glycemic index than regular white potatoes because of the fiber in their skin. If you are active and working out, having them boiled occasionally is fine. But they are still high in carbs, so don't replace your green veggies with them.
My mom has diabetes and she loves potatoes, so we switched to red potatoes. We boil them and cool them before serving, which apparently helps lower the glycemic impact. It has worked out quite well for her sugar readings.
They are slightly better because they contain more nutrients and fiber, which helps slow down digestion a bit. Just remember to eat them with the skin on, and always keep an eye on your portion sizes.
Haan, thode toh better hote hain normal aloo se kyunki inme fiber zyada hota hai. Par hain toh aloo hi na, toh zyada mat khana. Thoda portion size control rakhoge toh koi problem nahi hogi.
In our days, we ate local vegetables like ash gourd and methi to keep sugar in check. Red potatoes might be slightly better than white ones, but a diabetic should still be very careful. It is always best to consult your doctor first.

Don't blindly trust these internet claims that red potatoes are 'safe' or 'better' for diabetes. A potato is still a high-carb food that can spike your blood sugar. Please verify with your doctor before adding them to your diet.
Red potatoes are sometimes more expensive in the local market. Since we already spend so much on regular diabetes medicine and blood tests, I prefer to just buy cheap green vegetables which are much safer for sugar anyway.
