Are healthy choice meals good for diabetics?

My husband has diabetes, and I'm always looking for easy meal options that are also healthy. I see a lot of 'healthy choice' or 'diet' ready meals in stores. Are these generally suitable and safe for diabetics, or should I be careful, doc?

I always get so worried looking at packaged 'healthy' meals in supermarkets because the labels are so confusing. Has anyone else felt that their blood sugar spiked even after eating these? I really want to know if they are actually safe.

I agree that readymade healthy meals are not always ideal. It is much safer to stick to simple, home-cooked food like dal, green vegetables, and multigrain roti to control sugar.

I used to panic every time my sugar fluctuated after trying these packaged health meals. But once I consulted my doctor and started reading the back of the packet for actual sugar content, I realized some are okay and some are bad. Don't worry, just stick to basic fresh food as much as possible.

You really have to track the macros on those meals. I use a health app to scan the barcodes, and honestly, a lot of these readymade healthy meals are loaded with hidden sodium and simple carbs. Better to log your food or make fresh meals at home where you can track the exact ingredients.

Beta, these market-made boxed meals are not very good for health. Our home-cooked food with very little oil and plenty of fresh vegetables is the best thing for sugar. Take care of your health and eat fresh hot food.
