Are expired pregnancy tests reliable?

I took a pregnancy test this morning because I've missed my period, and it came back positive, but the kit was expired. Now I'm confused and worried if the result is even trustworthy. Are expired pregnancy tests generally reliable, or should I retest?

I know how painful and stressful it is to stare at those lines, especially when you are hoping for a certain result. But please don't rely on an expired test, as a false result will only hurt your feelings more. Hugs to you, please get a fresh kit to be absolutely sure.

Haha, unless you want a guess-work result from a magic 8-ball, please throw that expired test away! The chemicals inside have probably retired. Just walk down to the medical store and grab a fresh one, it's safer and saves you from a mini heart attack!

No, they are definitely not reliable. My elder sister always told me that chemical-based medical kits lose their power after the expiry date. It is always safest to trust a fresh test kit from a pharmacy, or better, consult a doctor for a proper blood test if you are in doubt.

Arey, when the packet itself says it has expired, why do we want to play detective with it, haha! At my age, I know shortcuts in health always lead to more confusion. Just throw it in the dustbin and buy a fresh one, it's a matter of two minutes.

Haan na, expired test bilkul bharosemand nahi hote. Chemical kharab ho jata hai toh galat result dikha sakta hai, ho na? Itna tension lene se accha hai ki ek naya test kit le aao aur subah check karo, sab clear ho jayega.
