Are edibles as bad for your liver as alcohol?

I've been hearing a lot about edibles lately, and some friends say they are a 'safer' alternative to alcohol. I'm concerned about liver health. Are edibles as damaging to the liver as regular alcohol consumption?

Look, alcohol is directly toxic to the liver and causes permanent damage like cirrhosis if abused. Edibles are processed by the liver too, but they don't cause the same destructive scarring. Still, don't overdo any substance.

From what I've researched, they aren't as toxic as alcohol, which physically destroys liver cells. But since the liver has to metabolize the active compounds in edibles, having too much can still stress the organ over time.

No, alcohol is far worse for the liver. However, anything processed by the liver should be consumed in moderation. If you are concerned about liver health, simple daily habits like drinking water and avoiding fatty foods work wonders.

While they might not be as damaging as alcohol, any regular substance use can impact your body. It is always smart to get your Liver Function Tests (LFT) checked during routine health checkups to be absolutely safe.

No, alcohol is much more toxic and damaging to liver cells compared to edibles. However, moderation is still very important for overall health.

Alcohol is a proven poison for the liver, while these modern edibles are different. But in Ayurveda, we believe anything unnatural burdens the digestive fire and liver. Stick to simple home-cooked food for a healthy life.

Alcohol is highly hepatotoxic, whereas edibles do not cause that level of cellular damage. However, keep in mind that many commercial edibles are loaded with sugars and fats which can contribute to fatty liver disease.
