Are all pregnancy tests the same?

I'm a little anxious and want to make sure I get an accurate result. I bought a home pregnancy test from the chemist, but my friend said some tests are more sensitive than others. Are all pregnancy tests the same in terms of accuracy and how early they detect pregnancy?

In our days we didn't have these plastic strips, we had to wait and watch for physical changes in the body. While most modern kits check the same hormone in urine, they can differ in sensitivity. If you miss your period, drinking warm ginger tea helps soothe stomach cramps, but wait a few days to test.

They all detect the hCG hormone, but some digital ones are easier to read than the cheap strip tests. If you are feeling confused or anxious, just take a deep breath. Try testing with the first morning urine for the most accurate result.

As a pharmacist, I tell customers that while the basic technology is the same, digital tests are more expensive because they show a clear 'Pregnant' or 'Not Pregnant' reading. Standard strip tests require you to look for faint lines, which can sometimes be confusing to interpret.

Even though urine tests are quite accurate, home tests can sometimes show false negatives if done too early. For complete safety and confirmation, please visit a local lab and get a beta-hCG blood test done. It is much more reliable than home kits.

The basic mechanism is the same for most brands, though some are slightly more sensitive. While you wait to confirm the results, just stick to light activities like walking. Avoid high-intensity workouts until you have consulted your gynecologist.

With my PCOS, my periods are always late and home tests are a source of constant anxiety. Some brands show faint lines that look positive but are just evaporation lines. I highly recommend getting a blood test instead of stress-testing with multiple brands.
