Are all calories the same for weight loss?

I'm on a weight loss journey and tracking my calorie intake, but my friend said 'a calorie is a calorie' no matter what. Is this true for weight loss, or do the sources of calories matter differently for my body?

Technically a calorie is a calorie for pure weight loss, but practically 100 calories of apple keeps you full while 100 calories of cola makes u hungry in ten mins. Just stick to simple ghar ka khana like dal chawal and roti sabzi. No need to buy expensive weight loss foods, just control the oil and portion size.

Honestly don't just blindly cut calories without checking with a doctor first. I tried a very low calorie crash diet thinking all calories are the same and it completely messed up my thyroid and hormones. Please get a basic blood panel done before you make any big changes to your diet.

I lost about 12 kgs last year and from what I saw, quality matters way more than just the number. If you only eat junk but stay under your limit, you will just look weak and tired. Eat clean, get your protein in, and the fat loss will happen much faster and look better.

I used to panic so much counting every single almond and chapati thinking my weight loss would stop. But my nutritionist explained that focus should be on protein and fiber, not just numbers. Once I stopped stressing over every calorie and focused on healthy eating, the weight actually started coming off naturally.

I am just starting my fitness journey and everything feels a bit confusing. I read that proteins take more energy to digest than carbs, is that true? If anyone has a simple meal plan for beginners, please share it here.

Bro if all calories were the same I would live on mid-night maggi and coffee. But my dark circles and bloated stomach say otherwise. 500 calories of broccoli is definitely not doing the same thing to your body as 500 calories of pizza, even if the math looks nice on paper.
