Will vomiting undo nissen fundoplication?

I had a Nissen fundoplication surgery a few years ago for severe GERD. Recently, I've had a few instances of vomiting due to a stomach bug. I'm worried if vomiting might undo the Nissen fundoplication and cause my reflux to return.

Oh, this sounds like a serious surgery. I'm not sure about it being undone, but I hope not. Is it a very fragile procedure?

I had some issues after my fundoplication, not exactly vomiting but intense discomfort. Even strong coughing can affect it. You MUST talk to your surgeon immediately if you're concerned about vomiting. Don't wait.

It's so scary to think about something like this after going through such a big surgery. The fear of undoing it is very real. I hope you're okay and get proper guidance on this.

My son had this procedure, and the doctors strictly warned us about avoiding anything that puts strain on the wrap, including vomiting. It can definitely be a concern for damaging the repair. Please speak to your doctor right away.

My neighbour had this surgery, and they told her to be very careful with any straining. While my family usually has many home remedies, for something like this, only the doctor can tell you what is safe. Please consult your surgeon.
