Will using floss under toe help pain?

My little brother has some pain under his toenail, and my grandmother suggested trying to slide a piece of floss under it. It sounds a bit strange to me. Will using floss under the toe actually help with the pain?

Okay, that's a new one! My sleep-deprived brain can barely floss my teeth, let alone try to fix toe pain with it. Honestly, it sounds like something that could make things worse, not better. Please don't experiment, see a doctor for your toe pain!

Using floss under your toe sounds like a DIY remedy that might cause more harm than good, especially if it's for something like an ingrown toenail or nerve issue. Please don't try such things without medical advice. I once ignored a small pain and it became a big problem, so get it checked by a podiatrist or doctor.

I've never heard of using floss under a toe for pain, and I personally wouldn't try it without asking a doctor first. My policy is always to stick to what medical professionals advise, especially when it comes to unusual remedies for pain.

The idea of using floss under a toe might be a mistaken folk remedy, perhaps confused with sterile cotton or a splint for ingrown toenails. However, applying dental floss this way could easily cause cuts, infection, or further irritation. For any persistent toe pain, especially if it's getting worse, please consult a podiatrist or a general physician for proper diagnosis and safe treatment.

I've tried so many home remedies for various aches and pains, but this one for the toe sounds a bit risky. If you have an ingrown toenail, a bit of cotton under the nail edge *can* help lift it, but floss might cut or irritate it more. It's better to just go to a foot doctor, they know exactly what to do.

This sounds really unusual and makes me a bit worried. Has anyone actually tried this or heard of it working for something specific? I always get anxious about trying remedies that aren't approved by doctors, especially for delicate areas like feet.

Beta, for foot pain, especially around the toe, sometimes a small piece of cotton under an ingrown nail can give temporary relief, that much I've heard. But using floss sounds like it could hurt more than help. It's better to just show it to a doctor, these things can get infected quickly, and then the trouble increases.

Toe pain can be so annoying and limit what you can do, I really sympathize. I'm not sure about floss, but for any persistent or worsening pain, especially in your foot, it's truly best to get it checked by a podiatrist. You deserve to walk comfortably.
