Will a&d ointment help eczema?

My baby has been having some dry, red patches on her skin, which the pediatrician thinks might be eczema. I have some A&D ointment at home. Is A&D ointment safe and effective to use for eczema on babies, or should I get a specific cream?

I can't say for eczema directly, but with diabetes, skin care is very important for me. I always check with my doctor before putting anything new on my skin, even simple ointments, to make sure it won't react badly or hide any other issues. Better to be safe.

Skin conditions are so tricky, especially if you have sensitive skin or other underlying conditions like PCOS can affect skin health. What works for one might not work for another. I'd definitely recommend asking a dermatologist before trying new ointments for eczema.

No, A&D ointment is usually for diaper rash or minor cuts, not really eczema. Eczema needs specific treatment. You should see a dermatologist for that. Don't self-medicate with things not meant for it, could make it worse.

While I don't have experience with A&D specifically for eczema, I've found that gentle, natural remedies and keeping the skin moisturized with something very mild can sometimes help. But for something persistent like eczema, a doctor's opinion is key to understand the cause.

A&D for eczema? Hmm, might just turn your eczema into a very well-protected baby bottom, but not necessarily cure it! Seriously though, eczema is stubborn. My wife tried everything for her nephew, finally a skin specialist gave a proper cream. Don't waste time, go to doc.
