Why would a doctor order a kidney ultrasound?

My father has been complaining about some back pain and also swelling in his feet. The doctor asked for a kidney ultrasound for him. What makes them decide to order this test?

If a doctor orders a kidney ultrasound, it means they want to visualize the kidneys and check for any abnormalities. It could be for recurrent UTIs, kidney stones, fluid retention, or even high blood pressure. Don't hesitate to ask your doctor directly why they recommended it for *your* specific case; they should explain it clearly.

Beta, if doctor has asked for ultrasound, then do it. They want to see inside, na? Sometimes kidneys get little stones or swelling. My dadi used to say drink lots of water and eat petha for kidney health, but for doctor's test, always follow. Don't worry, just get it done.

Namaste. Doctor ordering kidney ultrasound means they want to check if everything is okay with your kidneys, perhaps looking for stones, or maybe a blockage. My ammachi always said to drink tender coconut water for kidneys, but for diagnosis, doctor's word is final. Just do the test, no need to worry much before the results.

A kidney ultrasound is a common way to check for structural issues. From a diet perspective, kidney health is super important. If you have any history of kidney issues or even just suspect something, maybe your doctor is checking for stones, which can sometimes be related to diet. Ensure good hydration and balanced diet, but for this, listen to the doc.

Simple si baat hai, doc wants to see what's happening inside. Might be pain, might be some other symptom. They're just being careful to rule out stones, cysts, or any swelling. Don't overthink it, just get the scan done and then discuss the report with them.

I tried so many things for my back pain before finally going to the doctor, and they ended up ordering a kidney ultrasound too, just to be sure it wasn't kidney stones. It's a common test when you have symptoms like back pain, frequent urination, or even just some abnormal blood reports. They are just trying to find the cause, so it's good to get it done.
