Why won't my infant sleep at night?

My baby is just 3 months old, and since last week, she just won't sleep at night. She keeps waking up every hour and cries, and then I have to feed her again. My mother-in-law says it's gas, but I'm so tired.

My pediatrician explained that for infants, irregular sleep can be due to growth spurts, teething, or even a slight illness that isn't obvious. Sometimes they are just overtired too. Creating a consistent bedtime routine, like a warm bath, massage, and lullaby, can signal to them it's time to sleep. It really does take consistency.

Oh, that sounds so exhausting for you. Is there anything in particular that seems to make the baby restless, like maybe hunger or a full diaper? I'm curious if certain feeding times impact their night sleep too.

Try to keep the room dark and quiet, and maintain a consistent temperature. For our little one, we found that a gentle oil massage before bath and then feeding right before bed worked wonders. Also, make sure they are well-fed during the day so they don't wake up hungry at night.

Infant sleep can be a complex issue, and it's understandable to feel frustrated. Many factors can contribute, such as developmental leaps or discomfort. While establishing a routine helps, if it's a persistent problem, it's always best to consult your pediatrician to rule out any underlying medical reasons.

Welcome to parenthood, where sleep is a luxury! 😊 Many parents struggle with this, you are not alone. Sometimes babies mix up day and night. Try to expose them to natural light during the day and keep nights dark and quiet. And remember, babies don't 'sleep through the night' until much later. Be patient and consistent.

It's so tough when your baby isn't sleeping, I can only imagine how worried and exhausted you must be feeling. It's completely normal to feel this way. Just remember you're doing your best. If you're concerned, don't hesitate to reach out to your child's doctor, they can offer specific guidance.

Wow, infant sleep sounds like a whole different ball game! I've read about 'sleep regressions' where babies who used to sleep well suddenly don't. Is your baby going through a developmental leap perhaps? That's what some articles suggest. Hope you get some rest soon!
