Why was scarlet fever so deadly?

My son was reading about historical diseases for a school project and asked me about scarlet fever. He mentioned it used to be very deadly. I'm curious, what made scarlet fever so fatal in the past?

Scarlet fever used to be really dangerous because before antibiotics, it could lead to severe complications like rheumatic fever, which damages the heart, or kidney issues. It was an infection that, if left untreated, could cause a lot of internal damage. Luckily, now with antibiotics, it's much more manageable.

It was very deadly because there were no effective treatments like antibiotics back then. The infection could spread quickly and cause serious complications. It's good we have medicines now.

I heard stories from my grandmother about it. She said it was because they didn't have the right medicines, and people would get really sick very fast, often with other issues developing after the fever. It was a terrifying disease for families back then.

It used to be very dangerous because it could lead to severe complications like rheumatic fever, which can damage your heart valves. My aunt had issues because of scarlet fever when she was a child. It's why early diagnosis and proper treatment with antibiotics are so important now. If anyone has symptoms, they must see a doctor immediately.

Haan, pehle bahut dangerous tha. Woh na, jo bacteria cause karta hai usko, uski wajah se heart aur kidney mein bhi problem ho jaati thi. Aur tab antibiotics nahin the, na? Isliye log bach nahi paate the. Ab toh medicines aa gayi hain, toh treat ho jaata hai.

Ah, yes, scarlet fever. My elders used to speak of it. It was a terrifying disease because there were no proper medicines, no antibiotics like today. It would cause severe fever and rashes, and often lead to heart problems or kidney failure. Children especially suffered. We are lucky to live in these times where such diseases are treatable.

Well, imagine getting a bad fever and rash, and no one has a magic pill to make it better! That was scarlet fever back in the day. Before antibiotics, it was like a villain with no superhero to fight it, so it could cause all sorts of nasty complications. Glad we're in the future now!

Scarlet fever was so deadly mostly due to lack of proper medical treatments, especially antibiotics. When the body's immune system is fighting such a severe infection, good nutrition is also crucial for recovery, but even that wasn't enough without the right medicine. It shows how much medical science has advanced.
