Why shouldn't you sleep with red lights on?

I like to use a red night light in my bedroom as it feels very calming. My friend told me that sleeping with any lights on, especially red, can disturb sleep. Is there a scientific reason for this?

Mere ghar mein bhi humesha sab andhere mein sote hain. Kehte hain, roshni mein neend achhi nahi aati. Red light ka toh pata nahi, par koi bhi light ho, aankhon ko rest chahiye hota hai. Poora andhera ho toh achhi neend aati hai.

From a practical perspective, leaving any light on is just wasting electricity, haan? Plus, disturbed sleep can lead to health issues which might need expensive doctor visits and tests later. So, better to sleep in the dark, save money, and get good rest. Simple planning for health and wallet.

Haan ji, generally lights on karke sona isn't good. Even red light, jo thoda less disturbing lagta hai. Because any light can interfere with your body's natural melatonin production. Melatonin is like the 'sleep hormone' na? So less melatonin, less quality sleep. Try full dark if you can.

For me, sleep quality is super important, especially with PCOS, as it affects hormones. Even though red light is considered less disruptive than blue light, any artificial light during sleep can still potentially interfere with your body's natural circadian rhythm and melatonin production. It's generally safer to aim for a completely dark room for optimal sleep and hormone regulation.

Arey baba, with kids and all, sometimes any sleep is a blessing! But seriously, my doctor friend told me that even red light, though it's better than blue light, can still mess with your sleep cycle. Your body expects darkness to properly produce melatonin. So, less light means better sleep, which for me, means less exhaustion and less grumpiness the next day. It's a win-win.

Ho na, even red light can tell your brain ki abhi din hai, full dark nahi hai. Isse apna sleep hormone, melatonin, barabar se nahi banta. Toh neend ki quality achhi nahi hoti. Subah uth ke thakela thakela lagega. Better to sleep in total darkness for good sleep cycle.

Chhote, the main idea is that your body needs complete darkness to know it's truly time to sleep and produce the right hormones. Even red light, though soft, can send signals that prevent your body from fully switching into deep sleep mode. So, for a really good rest, it's best to have no lights at all.
