Why my infant won't sleep?

My infant, who is almost 4 months old, just won't sleep properly at night. We've tried everything – feeding, rocking, warm bath – but he keeps waking up every hour. It's becoming really exhausting for me and my husband.

Even for infants, routines matter. While they don't exercise like us, creating a consistent environment – like a quiet, dark room, fixed feed times – can signal to their tiny bodies that it's sleep time. It's all about establishing good habits, just like we do for our own fitness goals.

It's so tough when your little one doesn't sleep. My baby had reflux which made sleeping very difficult and I didn't realize for a while. If it's persistent and affecting their feeding or general demeanor, please see your pediatrician. It's better to rule out any underlying medical reasons early.

Oh, my child. Little babies sometimes don't sleep much, it's normal. Are they hungry? Do they have gas? Sometimes a gentle massage or soft lullaby helps. But if they are crying a lot and not sleeping at all, show them to the doctor once, just to be sure.

While infant sleep is usually linked to hunger or discomfort, in rare cases, even babies can have subtle health issues. Just as I need regular thyroid checks, perhaps a pediatrician can do a thorough checkup for the baby to ensure everything is okay physically. Don't hesitate to follow up with the doc.

Been there, done that! Infant sleep is a marathon, not a sprint. First, rule out hunger, wet diaper, or gas. Then, focus on routine. A warm bath, gentle massage, lullaby, and then dark room. They need to learn the difference between day and night. It will take time, but consistency is your best friend.

Infants not sleeping is a common challenge for parents. Make sure the room is dark and quiet, check if they are too hot or too cold. A full belly and a clean diaper are key. Sometimes just rocking them or a pacifier helps. Try a consistent bedtime routine, it works for many.
