Why is tb not more common than it is?

With so many people affected by TB historically and still today, it makes me wonder. Given how infectious it is, why isn't TB more common and widespread than it already is in our population?

Honestly, I used to panic about TB hearing old stories, but then I realized it's not as rampant as it once was, thankfully. Our public health efforts, better nutrition, and widespread vaccination play a huge role. It's still present, but not everywhere like before.

That's a good point! I think it's because of the BCG vaccine, right? Plus, overall hygiene has improved so much, and if someone does get it, there are good medicines now. So it's not like the old days when it was so deadly and spread like crazy.

See, when I was a child, my parents always emphasized cleanliness and good food for health. But beyond that, for diseases like TB, it's modern medicine that has made a big difference. The BCG vaccine and accessible treatments are key reasons why it's less prevalent now. Always trust what doctors say on this.

That's a good observation. It's less common now because we have vaccines like BCG, and also medicines that can treat it completely if caught early. Plus, overall hygiene and living standards have improved a lot. So, no need to worry too much, just be aware and consult a doctor if you ever have prolonged symptoms.

While it's less common than before, it's still very much around, especially in certain areas. I know someone who had complications because it wasn't caught early. So, yes, while we have vaccines and treatments, we shouldn't become complacent. If you have any persistent cough or symptoms, please get it checked by a doctor right away.

I think it's due to the vaccination campaigns and better access to diagnosis and treatment. But we shouldn't let our guard down, it's still a serious disease. If anyone has a cough for more than 2-3 weeks, it's always best to get it checked by a doctor, just to be safe.

Ho na, I think it's mostly because of better awareness and medicines now. Earlier people didn't know much, and treatment wasn't easily available. Now, if someone coughs for long, they get tested. Plus, BCG vaccine ka bhi fayda hai.

The reduced prevalence of TB, relative to its historical impact, can be attributed to several factors: the BCG vaccine, improved living conditions, better nutrition, and effective anti-tubercular drugs. Early detection and complete treatment are also critical. For personal concerns, consulting a doctor is always the most prudent step.
