Why is prioritizing your mental health important?

My work has been really stressful lately, and I've been feeling quite burnt out. A colleague suggested I take some time for myself and prioritize my mental health. Why is prioritizing your mental health important, especially when things get busy?

Bro, if your brain ain't happy, nobody's happy! It's like your phone battery – if it's dead, you can't even call for help. So charge your mental battery, otherwise life just feels like a constant buffering screen. 😂

I ignored my stress and anxiety for years, thinking it was just 'part of life.' Eventually, it led to physical health issues and burnout. Don't make my mistake. If you feel constantly overwhelmed, low, or anxious, please talk to someone, a doctor or a counselor. It's not something to be ashamed of.

Honestly, I used to think it was just 'feeling sad' but it's way more. If my head isn't right, my studies suffer, I don't feel like hanging out, even eating feels like a chore. Taking a break, talking to friends, or even just playing some games helps me reset. It's super important.

When my mental health takes a hit, all I want to do is eat comfort food, and not in a good way! And then I feel guilty, which makes it worse. Prioritizing mental health means you can enjoy your food without stress and actually savor it. Plus, a happy mind helps you make healthier food choices!

It's so important because when your mental health isn't good, everything else suffers. I used to ignore my feelings, thinking I just needed to 'be strong.' But that just made things worse. Acknowledging your struggles and giving yourself permission to feel and heal is the first step, and it's valid.
