Why is pcos so common now?

So many of my friends, and even my cousin sister, have been diagnosed with PCOS lately. It feels like every other girl I know has it. Why is PCOS so common now, or am I just noticing it more?

I don't know the exact medical reasons, but from what I've seen in my own circle, so many young women are getting diagnosed with PCOS now. It feels like our modern lifestyle, with stress and different food habits, might be playing a big role. It's a challenging condition for sure.

It's definitely becoming more common, and it's expensive to manage with all the tests and consultations! I think lifestyle changes are a huge part of it – less physical activity, more processed food. For managing it, you need a long-term plan, and budget for regular check-ups, which can be tough.

As someone with PCOS, I often wonder this too. It's likely a mix of genetics and environment. Our diets have changed so much, and there's more stress and sedentary lifestyles. Also, diagnostic tools are better, so maybe it's always been there but now we detect it more? It's really complex, so no easy answers.

Betaji, I have heard many young girls in our family and neighborhood facing this 'PCOS'. In our times, such things were not so common. I think it is because of the changes in food – too much outside food, less fresh and natural. Also, girls are not playing like before. Simple, fresh food and regular movement are very important. But for diagnosis, doctor is must.

It's so true, almost all my friends have PCOS or know someone who does! It feels like our generation is just more prone to it. I think stress, diet, and lack of exercise play a huge role. It's a reminder to really take care of ourselves and listen to our bodies.

My daughter was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, and her doctor explained that factors like genetics, insulin resistance, and lifestyle are big contributors. The food we eat and how active we are really make a difference. It's a condition that needs careful management, including diet and sometimes medication.
