Why is my tb test red?

My TB test site turned red and is a bit itchy. The nurse didn't say much, but I'm worried if this means I have TB. What does a red spot indicate?

Hey, it's totally normal for a TB test site to be red! It just means your body is reacting to the injection. The important thing is whether there's a hard, raised bump, and how big it is. Don't stress too much about the redness itself. Just make sure you go back to the clinic exactly when they told you to get it properly measured. Hope it turns out fine!

My daughter had her TB test recently, and her arm was also red around the spot. I remember the nurse told us that redness is expected. They check for a firm, raised area, not just the red part. Just ensure you take the reading at the specific time they gave you, usually after 48-72 hours. Don't scratch it!

Oh, my TB test was red too, and I completely freaked out thinking it was positive! Did anyone else feel that way? It's so confusing. I had to go back to the clinic, and the doctor measured it and said it was okay. So don't worry about just the redness, the measurement is key.

Redness on a TB test is normal. It means your body is reacting. The doctor measures the induration, which is the hard bump, not the red area. Just go for your scheduled reading, they'll tell you if it's positive or negative. Nothing to worry about.

A red TB test is a reaction. The crucial part is getting it read by a healthcare professional within the precise timeframe (typically 48-72 hours). They measure the induration (the raised, firm area), not the redness. Do not try to interpret it yourself; ensure you go for the official reading to rule out any concerns.

Don't fret over the redness, it's a common part of the reaction to the test. The main thing is that you get it professionally measured. Avoid scratching or putting anything on it, as that could affect the reading and potentially lead to needing a repeat test, which would be another cost and inconvenience. Just wait for the official check-up.

Beta, yeh toh aam baat hai. Jab bhi injection lagta hai, thoda laal ho hi jaata hai. TB test mein bhi wahi hota hai. Woh log sirf tumhara laali nahi dekhenge, woh dekhenge kitna ubra hua hai. Samay pe jaana wapis dikhane ke liye, sab theek hoga.
