Why is men's mental health month ignored?

I see a lot of campaigns for women's health awareness, but not as much for men. Even Men's Mental Health Month seems to pass by without much notice. Why is men's mental health month ignored?

Beti, in our society, men are always expected to be strong and not show weakness. This thinking makes them hide their pain, including mental troubles. So, even if there is a special month, people don't talk about it openly. We need to teach our boys to share their feelings, like we teach them to eat well. There is no shame in seeking help.

It's a shame that Men's Mental Health Month doesn't get enough traction. We focus a lot on physical fitness and staying active, but mental fitness is equally important. Men are often conditioned to suppress emotions, making them less likely to seek help. We need more visibility for this, similar to how we promote physical health campaigns.

That's a good question! I think it gets ignored because generally, men are supposed to be 'tough,' right? So talking about feelings or mental health can feel like a weakness. It's almost like we're expected to just crave our comfort food and not our comfort feelings, haha. We need to change that mindset for sure!

Men's Mental Health Month is often overlooked due to deeply ingrained societal expectations and the stigma associated with male vulnerability. Men are frequently discouraged from expressing emotions, leading to silence and delayed help-seeking. For a time-conscious professional, prioritizing mental health is tough but crucial. We need practical, accessible support systems and a cultural shift to normalize men seeking help.

Oh, I didn't even know there was a Men's Mental Health Month. That's actually quite sad that it gets ignored. Is it because society still sees mental health as a 'female' issue, or something like that? It feels like we need more campaigns and awareness then, right?
