Why is liver metastases so bad?

I was told by doctors at a top hospital that liver metastases indicate the cancer has spread beyond its primary site, making it advanced and much harder to treat. The liver is so crucial for life, so any widespread cancer there is very dangerous. Always ask your doctor to explain everything clearly if you have concerns.

Ugh, liver metastases sounds terrifying. I guess because the liver is like a central station for blood and processes so many things, if cancer reaches there, it's already bad news. It means the cancer is pretty far gone and makes treatment super complicated. That's what I understand from what I've read.

It's very bad, beti. Our body's liver is like a very important filter and a storehouse of good things. If the sickness, the cancer, spreads to it from somewhere else, then it means the sickness has become very big. It becomes very difficult to make the body well again when the main filter is affected.
