Why is kidney disease on the rise?

I've been hearing a lot more about kidney disease in the news and from friends lately, almost like it's becoming more common. Is kidney disease really on the rise in India, and if so, what are the main reasons behind it?

Yaar, I think it's all the yummy but unhealthy street food and restaurant food we eat! Like, pav bhaji is life, but too much salt na? Plus, those fizzy drinks. We need to find a balance between enjoying our food and keeping our kidneys happy. It's a constant struggle for me haha.

Honestly, it's about our lifestyle these days. Too much processed food, not enough water, and many of us don't even know we have blood pressure or sugar issues until it's too late. Regular checkups are super important, even if you feel fine. My doctor stressed this a lot, especially controlling BP and diabetes.

I totally get why you're asking this. It feels like everyone knows someone affected these days. I think a big part of it is how stressful life has become, and we often neglect our diet and exercise. The pressure to always be busy means health takes a backseat for many.

Please, please don't ignore any small signs. I had mild swelling in my feet for months and just thought it was tiredness. By the time I saw a doctor, things were more serious. Regular checkups and listening to your body are not optional. Go get checked if you have even a doubt.

Maybe our kidneys are just getting tired of filtering all the stress from our jobs and traffic jams, lol. On a serious note though, I think it's a mix of everything – diet, less activity, and maybe we just need to drink more water and less chai sometimes! Keep those kidneys hydrated folks!

Beta, in our time, food was much simpler, and we walked everywhere. Now, everything is fast food and sitting in front of screens. Your body needs proper care and clean food. It's sad to see so many young people getting these problems. Just try to eat home-cooked food and stay active, that helps a lot.

Oh, that's a worrying trend to hear. I've only recently started looking into health topics. Is it mostly due to lifestyle factors, or are there other big reasons too, like pollution or something? Just trying to understand better.
