Why is colorectal cancer on the rise in young people?

Someone in my office, barely 32, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer last month. This is very concerning for people my age. Why is colorectal cancer on the rise in young people now?

Yaar, please don't be like me. I had some tummy issues in my late 20s, just dismissed it as acidity or stress. Wish I'd gotten it checked earlier. If you or anyone you know has persistent symptoms like changes in bowel habits or stomach pain, just go to the doctor, don't delay.

It's really worrying to hear about this trend. With my PCOS, I've learned that lifestyle plays such a huge role in so many conditions. I think the processed foods, lack of fiber, and sedentary lifestyles are big contributors. We really need to be more aware of what we're eating and how much we're moving.

Yaar, actually I think it's all the junk food we eat. Like, everyone's always ordering online, no one's cooking fresh food at home much anymore. Plus, stress is a big thing too, and we don't move around as much. All these things add up, I guess.

Hey! Honestly, it's pretty scary stuff, right? But don't stress too much about it. I think our diets have changed so much, plus everyone's so busy these days. Just try to eat home food more often and walk around a bit. And if anything feels off, just call your doctor!

From what I've seen, diet is a huge factor. Less fiber, more red and processed meats, and too much sugar are definitely not helping. Also, physical inactivity and possibly early onset obesity play a role. Regular check-ups, even if you feel fine, are becoming more important for younger age groups now.

It's so concerning, especially since it's affecting young people now. I've tried so many home remedies for minor gut issues myself. While those can help with small things, for anything serious or persistent, we absolutely need medical advice. Our modern diets and lack of activity are definitely not helping our digestion.

I totally get why this is worrying for many. It feels like health issues that were for older people are now popping up everywhere for young ones. I think the way we live now – fast food, less exercise, more stress – is really taking a toll on our bodies, including our gut health.
