Why is breztri not for asthma?

My father has COPD and uses Breztri, but my cousin, who has severe asthma, was told it's not for him. Why is Breztri not recommended for asthma patients?

Oh, I totally get why you'd be asking this. Health info can be super confusing and make you anxious. It's good you're trying to understand the details and not just assume things. Always better to be clear on what medicines are for.

Hmm, for medicines, it's very important to use them for their specific purpose. Just like with my diabetes, I can't take just any sugar-reducing pill. Each medicine has a different chemical makeup meant for particular conditions. Breztri might be for COPD, which is different from asthma, even though both affect lungs.

Honestly, when it comes to any medication, especially for breathing issues, please don't self-diagnose or assume. It's always safest to consult with a doctor or a pharmacist directly. They can explain why certain drugs are for specific conditions and not others.

Quick take: Breztri is a combo drug, typically for COPD, not asthma. The active ingredients might not be suitable or effective for asthma's specific inflammation or bronchospasm. Don't risk it, your doctor knows best for your condition.

Hey! Don't stress too much about why it's not for asthma. Medicines are super specific, you know? Just like you wouldn't use a headache tablet for a stomach ache. If you have asthma, your doctor will give you exactly what you need. Just follow their advice!
