Why doesn't my dandruff go away?

I've tried so many shampoos and home remedies, but my dandruff just doesn't go away. It's embarrassing and itchy. Why doesn't my dandruff ever seem to clear up completely, no matter what I do?

Dandruff can be really persistent, and often what people call 'dandruff' can actually be other scalp conditions like seborrheic dermatitis. Relying on generic anti-dandruff shampoos or random internet remedies often doesn't work because they might not address the specific cause. The best approach is to see a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and tailored treatment plan.

Bro, dandruff is the worst! I always thought it was just because of dry scalp, but then my friend told me it could be a fungus. I switched to a different shampoo and it helped a bit. But it's super stubborn, yaar.

My dandruff doesn't go away probably because it knows I'm too tired to fight it anymore! 😂 Seriously though, I think it's a combination of stress and maybe needing a stronger shampoo. Or maybe my scalp just hates me. Hope yours gets better!

Dandruff can be very persistent. Sometimes, even stress or general health can play a part. While specific shampoos might help, if it's not improving, a dermatologist can identify the exact cause. For my BP, I focus on lifestyle, and I believe overall health contributes to everything, even scalp health. Don't forget your regular checkups.

Okay, if your dandruff isn't going away, your current routine or products probably aren't working for you. Stop using everything that's not helping. Get a proper anti-dandruff shampoo with zinc pyrithione or selenium sulfide, and use it consistently. If still no change, see a dermatologist, don't waste time on home remedies.

Oh my god, same here! I've tried everything and it just comes back. It makes me feel so self-conscious. Does anyone else feel like it's just a losing battle sometimes? I constantly worry about flakes.

Sometimes a good neem oil massage or curd mask can help with general dandruff. But if yours is not going away, it's a sign that it might be a stronger condition. For such persistent issues, it is always best to consult a doctor. Don't let it worsen.

Dandruff can be stubborn! Sometimes, it's not just a dry scalp but something more. I have thyroid issues, and my doctor mentioned that hormonal imbalances can sometimes affect skin and scalp health. If it's really persistent, please consider getting a full check-up, including thyroid tests, and consult a dermatologist. Don't ignore it.

If it's not going away, your shampoo is not working. Get a medicated one from the chemist or, better yet, just go to a dermatologist. They will tell you exactly what to do. Don't keep trying random things.

If typical anti-dandruff shampoos aren't helping, it's possible you have a more severe scalp condition like seborrheic dermatitis, or even psoriasis, which requires specific medical treatment. I had a relative who ignored persistent scalp issues, and it became much harder to manage later. Please consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and avoid complications.

Persistent dandruff usually means you're dealing with something more than just dry scalp. It could be fungal (Malassezia) or seborrheic dermatitis. Try using a shampoo with ketoconazole or salicylic acid. Also, track your scalp condition and diet in a health app; sometimes certain foods can trigger flare-ups. If it doesn't improve, a derm will definitely help.

Dandruff can be really stubborn sometimes! It's important to use an anti-dandruff shampoo consistently, and try leaving it on for 5 minutes before rinsing. Also, ensure you wash your hair regularly to avoid product buildup. If it's still not going away, it might be time to see a dermatologist; they can prescribe stronger treatments or rule out other conditions.

Girl, I feel you! Dandruff can be so annoying and embarrassing. Make sure you're using a proper medicated shampoo, massaging it well, and leaving it on for a few minutes before rinsing. Also, stress can make it worse, so try to chill! If nothing works, maybe a dermatologist can help.

My dermatologist explained that common dandruff is usually caused by a yeast-like fungus called Malassezia. If your shampoo isn't effective, it might be due to resistance to its active ingredient, or you might actually have seborrheic dermatitis, which is more severe. Factors like stress, diet, and infrequent washing can also play a role. He suggested alternating shampoos and sometimes prescription-strength ones.
