Why does tooth pain hurt more at night?

Been having a bad toothache for two days now. It feels okay during the day, but as soon as it's night, the pain becomes really intense. Is there a reason why it gets worse when I'm trying to sleep?

Tooth pain that worsens at night is a common but serious symptom, often indicating inflammation or infection reaching the nerve. It could be a deep cavity, cracked tooth, or gum disease. Please don't try to ignore it; it won't go away on its own. You absolutely must see a dentist as soon as possible to prevent further complications.

Oh, that night-time toothache is just awful, no? One reason is when you lie down, blood rushes to your head, increasing pressure in the already inflamed tooth. Plus, there are fewer distractions at night, so you focus more on the pain. Keep a clove near the tooth, it helps a bit, but for the actual problem, only a dentist can fix it properly.

Several factors contribute to tooth pain worsening at night. When you lie down, blood flow to your head increases, potentially elevating pressure around an inflamed or infected tooth pulp. Additionally, during sleep, your brain is less distracted, making you more aware of the pain. Plus, clenching or grinding teeth at night can also exacerbate it. Get it checked by a dentist.

Generally, tooth pain becomes worse at night because of increased blood flow to the head when lying down, which increases pressure on the nerve. Also, during the day we are busy, but at night, the pain feels more intense with no distractions. A warm salt water rinse can give some temporary relief, but for any persistent or severe toothache, seeing a dentist is not an option, it's a must.

Ugh, the night-time toothache is just the absolute worst! It keeps me up for hours. Does anyone else feel like it's ten times worse when you're trying to sleep compared to during the day? I always get super anxious when the pain starts getting really bad, thinking it's something severe. It's just so much more intense at night.
