Why does saliva come out before vomiting?

Sometimes before I vomit, I notice a lot of saliva comes into my mouth. It's like a warning sign. Why does the body do this, why does saliva come out before vomiting?

Oh, that's just your body preparing for the 'event'! 😂 Your mouth waters to protect your teeth from the stomach acid coming up. It's a natural defense mechanism! Not fun, but clever, right? 😉

This is very common. Your body is making more saliva to protect your mouth from the strong stomach acids. You can try chewing a small piece of ginger or a clove to help settle your stomach. But if vomiting is frequent or severe, please see a doctor, don't just rely on home remedies.

Dude, I just had food poisoning last week and experienced this first-hand. It's genuinely your body's way of prepping. The excessive saliva is meant to coat and protect your mouth and esophagus from the acid. It's gross but a smart survival mechanism, actually.

It's a protective reflex. Your salivary glands go into overdrive to produce extra saliva to dilute and neutralize the stomach acid that's about to come up. It minimizes damage to your esophagus and teeth. It's unpleasant but your body is just trying to protect itself.

That feeling of sudden excess saliva is truly one of the worst parts leading up to it, isn't it? It's like your body is giving you a heads up, but it just adds to the horrible anxiety. It's completely normal, though, your body's trying to protect itself. You're not alone in finding it awful.

Ugh, I hate that feeling! I always think 'oh no, here it comes.' It's like my body is giving me a heads-up, but also making me more anxious. But yes, it's just your body trying to protect your mouth from the acid. Try to stay calm, it passes soon.
