Why does my newborn fight sleep?

My newborn baby, who is just two months old, fights sleep so much! She gets fussy and cries even when she's clearly tired. My mother-in-law says it's normal, but I'm exhausted and wondering if there's anything I can do to help her sleep better.

Oh, tell me about it! My little one also used to fight sleep like it was a wrestling match. Sometimes it's just overtiredness, or they're going through a growth spurt. Try a consistent bedtime routine, a warm bath, and a dark room. It eventually gets better, hang in there, mama!

If a newborn is consistently fighting sleep, and seems unusually fussy or in discomfort, it's important to rule out any underlying medical issues. Always consult your pediatrician to ensure everything is okay and get tailored advice. Better to be safe.

It's so incredibly draining when your newborn fights sleep, I completely understand the emotional toll it takes. You feel so helpless and exhausted. Just remember you're doing your best, and it's okay to feel overwhelmed.

Oh my god, is this normal? My friend's baby also does this, and she's always so worried. I'd be freaking out thinking something is wrong. Does anyone else's newborn really fight sleep or is it just some babies?

Newborns can be tricky sleepers. It could be gas, colic, hunger, or just being overstimulated. Creating a calming environment and consistent routine helps. However, if the baby is excessively irritable or seems uncomfortable, it's always best to consult your pediatrician for professional advice.
