Why does my kidney hurt on my period?

Every month around my period, I get a dull ache in my lower back, almost like it's my kidneys hurting. It's a new symptom for me, and I'm not sure if it's connected to my cycle or something else entirely.

Period pain can sometimes radiate to the back, which might feel like kidney pain. But if it's specifically your kidney area and it's severe, it's worth getting checked. Start with a general physician; they can advise on basic, affordable tests like a urine test or kidney function panel, rather than jumping to very expensive specialist appointments right away.

Hey! It's quite common for period pain to spread to your lower back, sometimes even feeling like it's in your kidney area because of the way everything is connected. But if it's a sharp, unusual pain or you have other symptoms like burning while peeing, definitely talk to a gynaecologist or a general physician. Don't ignore it, okay?

Ugh, periods make our whole body rebel, don't they? 😂 Sometimes it feels like every organ is conspiring against us! Kidney pain during periods can happen because of hormones or cramps radiating. It's like your uterus is saying 'hey, entire lower torso, let's all hurt together!' But if it's too much, check with a doc to be safe.

My doctor explained that during menstruation, the uterus contracts, and this pain can often radiate to the lower back and flanks, sometimes feeling like kidney pain. Hormonal changes also play a role. However, it's crucial to rule out actual kidney issues like UTIs or stones. She advised getting a urine test done if the pain is severe or accompanied by fever or burning urination.

OMG, don't stress too much, it could just be referred pain from your uterus or lower back during periods. Hormones can make everything a bit sensitive down there. Try a hot water bag and some rest. But seriously, if it's really sharp or new, just get it checked by a gynaecologist, okay? Better safe than sorry!

Sometimes dehydration or an imbalance in salts can make things feel worse during your period. Ensure you're drinking plenty of water and eating hydrating foods. Also, processed foods can contribute to inflammation. Focus on a clean, plant-based diet. But for actual pain in the kidney area, a doctor's opinion is essential.
