Why does my fever keep going up and down?

My fever has been really weird lately; it goes high, then drops to normal, only to spike up again a few hours later. It's been like this for two days now. What causes this up and down pattern?

Dude, this happened to me last semester! It was so annoying, one minute I'd be chilling, next I'd be burning up. My doctor said it was just a viral infection, and the fever meds would make it go down temporarily. Just gotta let your body fight it out, but keep taking your meds on time!

Sometimes, when our body is fighting an infection, fever will fluctuate. I usually try kadha, haldi doodh, and light, warm food. But if it's been many days or the fever is very high, please don't just rely on home remedies. A doctor can tell you what kind of infection it is and give proper medicine.

I totally get it, that up-and-down fever is so confusing and makes you feel constantly unwell. It’s hard to know if you're getting better or worse. It can be really draining on your energy and mood. Make sure you're resting properly and staying hydrated, and keep a close watch on it.

When you have diabetes, managing any illness, especially fever, needs extra care. Fluctuating fever can be concerning. Make sure you're regularly checking your blood sugar, as fever can affect it. And consume easily digestible, low-GI foods. Consult your doctor immediately, especially if you also feel weak, as it could be a sign of infection needing specific treatment.

This usually indicates your body is actively fighting off an infection. The fever goes up as your immune system works, and then drops when you take medication or your body cools down naturally. Keep track of the peaks and drops, and any other symptoms, to give your doctor accurate info. Consistent medication and rest are key.

Beta, jab bukhar upar neeche hota hai na, toh sharir mein takat kam lagti hai. Hamare gaon mein bolte hain ki yeh sharir lad raha hai. Bas khana time pe khao, thanda paani piyo aur araam karo. Agar zyada din chale toh bade doctor ko dikhana.

Oh, I've noticed this too sometimes and it makes me a bit worried. Is it always a bad sign, or can it just be a normal part of getting over a cold? Like, how long is too long for it to fluctuate like that before seeing a doctor?

My mind would be racing if my fever kept playing hide and seek! I'd be checking my temperature every hour and imagining all sorts of things. But seriously, it could just be your body's way of fighting. Just keep yourself calm, hydrate, and don't hesitate to consult a doctor if the anxiety gets too much or if it persists.

Fluctuating fever might mean you need more diagnostic tests, which can add up. Ask your doctor for a clear breakdown of potential tests and their necessity. Sometimes, simple blood tests are enough. If they suggest very expensive ones, always ask about alternatives or if they can confirm the likely cause with less. Plan your budget for medical expenses.

When my fever fluctuated a lot, I went to a good multi-specialty hospital. The doctor there clearly explained that it means the infection is still active. Don't be shy to ask your doctor very specific questions like 'what exactly is causing this fluctuation?' and 'what's the treatment plan if it doesn't stabilize in X days?'. Get clarity!

Ho na, it's very common for fever to go up and down when your body is fighting something. It usually means an infection is active. Just make sure you are taking medicines on time and getting proper rest. Don't stress too much, but if it lasts long, then see the doctor again, haan?

Totally been there! It's so confusing when your temperature keeps fluctuating, makes you feel like you're on a rollercoaster. I usually just try to stay hydrated with warm water and fresh juices, and take paracetamol on time. But if it goes on for more than a couple of days, it's definitely time to get it checked by a doctor, no point in guessing.

Do NOT try every random home remedy you see online for fluctuating fever. This isn't a small cold if it's persistently going up and down. You need a proper medical diagnosis. Go to a qualified doctor, get your blood tests done, and follow only their prescribed treatment. Internet cures can be dangerous here.

During a fever, keeping your diet light and nourishing is really important. Stick to easily digestible vegetarian options like moong dal khichdi, vegetable soups, and fresh fruit juices. Avoid anything heavy, oily, or very spicy. This helps your body focus on fighting the infection and maintains energy levels. But definitely see a doctor!

It's so mentally exhausting, isn't it? One minute you feel okay, the next you're shivering. It feels like you can't plan anything or even relax properly. I remember just feeling so helpless when my fever kept doing this. Don't underestimate the emotional toll it takes, and please seek proper medical care.
