Why does liver taste like poop?

I tried liver for the first time at a friend's place and it was truly awful, very earthy and almost a bit... well, like poop. Is there a reason it can have such a strange, off-putting flavour?

As a vegetarian, I really can't comment on the taste of liver! 😂 But generally, strong-tasting foods, especially organ meats, are an acquired taste for non-vegetarians. If something genuinely tastes 'bad' in a foul way, maybe it's not fresh? Otherwise, plenty of plant-based proteins are delicious and nutritious!

Haha, that's a very strong way to put it! But I think a lot of people find liver to have a very distinct, often unappealing, flavor. You're definitely not alone in that opinion.

Well, if you're asking about the taste of animal liver as food, it has a very strong, often metallic or gamey flavor that not everyone enjoys. But if you're implying *your own body* is causing a 'poop-like' taste, that's a serious medical symptom and you should consult a doctor immediately for diagnosis.

OMG, 'taste like poop' is a bit much, but I get your sentiment! 😂 Liver definitely has a super intense, earthy, almost metallic flavor that some people find really off-putting. Personally, I prefer my food to taste more like biryani and less like... well, you know! Maybe it's just not for your palate!

Aiyo, liver ka taste toh bahut strong hota hai na? Sabko pasand nahi aata. It's because of all the iron and work it does in the body. If you don't like it, no problem, don't eat it. Bahut saari aur nutritious cheezein hain khane ke liye, ho na?

The flavor of liver (as food) is quite complex due to its metabolic functions and high iron content, often described as gamey or metallic. It's a matter of individual palate. However, if you're experiencing a persistent bad taste in your mouth that concerns you, it's always best to consult a general physician to rule out any medical conditions.

That's a very vivid description! I've read that liver has a strong, unique flavor due to the high concentration of certain vitamins and minerals, and its role as a filter. It's definitely not for everyone. I guess it's like how some people can't stand olives or mushrooms, it's just taste buds.

Haha, that's one way to put it, yaar! But actually, liver just has a very intense, almost earthy and metallic taste because of its function and composition. It's an acquired taste for sure. If it tastes 'bad' to you, it probably just means you're not used to such a strong flavor. My mom loves it, I can't stand it!

Haha, I used to say the exact same thing about liver when my wife would cook it! She tried every trick – soaking it in milk, adding extra spices – but for me, it always had that strong, weird aftertaste. Eventually, we just stopped making it. Some things are just not meant to be eaten, I guess!

Don't worry, you're not the only one who feels this way! I remember my parents telling me to eat liver for iron, and I always hated it, thought it tasted super weird and metallic. For years I panicked thinking something was wrong with *my* taste buds. Turns out, it just has a very strong, distinct flavour that many find unpleasant. Nothing wrong with you!
