Why does head and shoulders give me dandruff?

For some reason, every time I use Head & Shoulders shampoo, I get a lot of dandruff instead of it going away. What could be the reason for this? It feels like it's making it worse.

That's strange, it's supposed to help with dandruff. Maybe your scalp is sensitive to some ingredient in it? Sometimes, just changing shampoo brands can help. If it persists, seeing a dermatologist might be needed. Just be prepared, skin consultations and specific products can sometimes be a bit pricey.

I completely get why you'd be confused and worried! It's supposed to fix dandruff, not cause it. It's really frustrating when something designed to help makes things worse. It could be an allergic reaction or just not suiting your scalp type. Don't stress too much, it's likely something simple.

Honestly, I tried Head and Shoulders too, and for me, it made my scalp even drier and itchier. It just didn't work for my hair type, I guess. I switched to a mild, natural shampoo, and that helped. Not saying it's the same for you, but just my experience.

Hey yaar, don't stress too much about it! Sometimes certain products just don't suit everyone, even if they're popular. Your scalp might be reacting to an ingredient. Maybe try a different anti-dandruff shampoo with a different active ingredient, or something super mild. It's okay, you'll figure it out!

Omg, same! I used Head and Shoulders for years thinking it was helping, but my dandruff actually got worse and my scalp was so itchy. Turns out I was allergic to one of the chemicals. I switched to a prescribed medicated shampoo from a dermatologist and it's so much better now. Seriously, get it checked if it's persistent.

Haha, maybe your scalp is just a non-conformist! Sometimes our bodies react in weird ways to things that work for everyone else. It's probably just not suited for your unique scalp chemistry. Don't sweat it, there are tons of other options out there. Your hair will find its soulmate shampoo!

Yes, this can happen if your scalp reacts badly to an ingredient. Consider a patch test or a different brand.

Arre yaar, actually, it might be drying your scalp too much. Sometimes these strong anti-dandruff shampoos can do that, and a dry scalp also flakes, which looks like dandruff. Or maybe you're just allergic to something in it. Try stopping it for a while and see. My friend had this problem too.

It's possible you're sensitive to an ingredient in it. Different people react differently to products. Also, sometimes what looks like dandruff can be a dry scalp, and a harsh anti-dandruff shampoo might make that worse. Try switching to a very gentle, sulfate-free shampoo for a bit and see if it calms down.

Haan yaar, kabhi kabhi aisa hota hai. Har product sabko suit nahi karta. Maybe tumhare scalp ko Head and Shoulders ka formula suit nahi kar raha. Na, try some other anti-dandruff shampoo, ya phir ek baar dermatologist ko dikha do. Simple ho jayega.

If a product meant to treat dandruff is causing it, that's definitely a sign something isn't right. It could be an allergic reaction or simply not the right formulation for your scalp's specific condition. Please consult a dermatologist. When you go, clearly explain to them exactly what's happening and which product you're using. They will be able to guide you best.

My doctor once explained that while Head and Shoulders is good for many, some people can develop contact dermatitis or irritation from its active ingredients like zinc pyrithione or selenium sulfide, or even other components like fragrances. This can actually worsen flaking or trigger an allergic reaction that mimics dandruff. It's best to observe if other symptoms like redness or intense itching occur, and consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis.

My life is one big dandruff flake. Head and Shoulders is supposed to fix it, but sometimes it feels like it just mocks my scalp. Maybe it's like, my scalp is too rebel for it? Honestly, I'm too tired to figure it out, I just switch brands every few months now.

This happened to me years ago! Head and Shoulders actually dried out my scalp too much and caused more flaking, which looked like dandruff. I switched to a milder shampoo and used a clarifying shampoo once a month. Also, make sure you're rinsing your hair thoroughly, product residue can cause issues. Sometimes, less is more.

Oh no, that's the opposite of what it's supposed to do! 😅 Maybe your scalp is just being a bit fussy! It happens sometimes, certain ingredients just don't agree with everyone. Hope you find something that works for you soon! ✨
