Why does accutane cause joint pain?

I've been on Accutane for a few months now, and I've noticed my joints, especially my knees and back, feel achy. My friends who also took it didn't mention this. Is joint pain a common side effect of Accutane?

From a fitness perspective, any medicine causing joint pain is concerning, especially if you're active. Accutane dries out everything, including the lubrication in your joints, which can lead to discomfort. It's crucial to stay hydrated and listen to your body, maybe ease up on high-impact workouts if you're on it, but definitely consult your doctor.

Accutane is a serious drug with known side effects, and joint pain is one of them. Don't try to self-medicate or look for quick fixes online. If you're experiencing joint pain while on Accutane, you MUST speak to your dermatologist. They know your medical history and can advise properly, not some random internet forum.

Accutane is a strong medication, and joint pain is a known side effect for some people. It's believed to be linked to how it affects bone and cartilage. While it can be uncomfortable, it's usually manageable. Just make sure you inform your prescribing doctor about any pain you're experiencing; they can offer solutions or adjust your treatment.

My friend took Accutane a few years ago, and he definitely complained about joint pain, especially in his knees and back. He said it was quite bothersome throughout his treatment. He just managed it with regular stretches and what his doctor suggested, but it was a known side effect for him.
