Why do people with dementia sleep so much?

My elderly aunt has dementia and she sleeps a lot during the day and night. Her family is concerned. Is it a common symptom for people with dementia to sleep so much?

Hmm, maybe their brain is just so busy trying to process everything, it needs extra 'downtime' to recover! Or like after a really heavy biryani, you just want to snooze. Dementia can really mess with the brain's normal cycles, making them tired more easily. It's a sad condition.

It's incredibly challenging to witness a loved one with dementia, and their increased sleep is often heartbreaking to see. Their brains are working so hard to function, even with simple tasks, that it's profoundly exhausting. It's a part of the progression, and they need that rest. It's really tough on the families.

I've been reading up on dementia, and it seems like their sleep cycles get totally disrupted. The brain changes mean they might not be able to differentiate day from night properly, leading to confusion and increased napping during the day. Plus, the sheer effort of daily living can be exhausting for them.

When my grandmother started sleeping a lot more, I initially panicked, thinking it was something very sudden. But then I learned it's quite common with dementia. Their brain is working harder to manage daily tasks, so it gets fatigued easily. It became a normal part of her condition, though still sad to see.

Yaar, actually dementia pura brain ko affect karta hai, right? Toh unke sleep-wake cycle completely disturb ho jaate hain. Din mein they feel super tired because their brain is constantly working hard, even to just recall things. So, they end up sleeping a lot during the day and sometimes even get confused at night. It's part of the illness, sad to see.

Beta, jinhe dementia hota hai, unka dimaag bohot kamzor ho jaata hai. Chhoti-chhoti cheezein bhi yaad rakhna mushkil hota hai, toh isme unki bohot shakti lag jaati hai. Isliye unhe zyada aaram ki zarurat padti hai. Unke liye shaant mahaul aur pyaar bohot zaroori hai, taaki unko achhi neend aaye.

Haan, dementia mein sleep patterns bigad jaate hain, bilkul. Unka brain itna struggle karta hai har cheez process karne mein, toh naturally thak jaate hain. Din mein zyada sote hain, aur raat mein kabhi kabhi jaage rehte hain. Na, yeh normal nahi hai in general, but for them, it's part of the disease.
