Why do kidney stones hurt so bad?

My neighbour suffered from kidney stones and she described the pain as unbearable. I've heard others say the same thing. I'm wondering, why do kidney stones cause such intense pain?

Oh man, I've heard it's one of the worst pains ever! It's not just the stone itself, but when it moves and blocks the urinary tract, it causes immense pressure and swelling. I believe staying hydrated and moving around, if the doctor allows, can sometimes help prevent them or at least ease the passing.

Arre, jab woh pathri chalti hai na sharir ke andar, toh bahut dard hota hai. Jaise koi cheez andar se kaat rahi ho. Bhagwan na kare kisi ko ho. Paani bahut peena chahiye aur doctor ko dikhana zaroori hai.

I totally get why you're asking this, the pain sounds unbearable from what I've heard! It's because these stones are sharp and they try to pass through really narrow tubes, causing blockages and irritation. The body tries to push them out, and that's where the intense pain comes from. It's a proper struggle for the body.

It's because the stone blocks the flow of urine and irritates the narrow tubes. That causes a lot of pressure and sharp pain. It's a very difficult experience. Hope you're doing okay.

Oh, kidney stone pain is said to be very severe, my aunt had it once. It's because the stone tries to pass through the very thin tubes and blocks the urine flow, causing immense pressure. Family always says drink more water, but for this kind of pain, please trust a good doctor and their advice.
