Why do i yell and scream in my sleep?

My wife told me that sometimes I yell and scream in my sleep. I don't remember anything when I wake up, but she says it sounds like I'm having a bad dream. Is this something to be worried about?

I used to do this a lot in my early 20s, very embarrassing! For me, it was always when I was super stressed or had a very heavy, spicy dinner. Try to relax before bed, maybe some deep breathing. Also, a lighter dinner helps. If it's very frequent, talking to a sleep specialist helps a lot.

Arre baap re, you yell in sleep? Sounds like nightmares or some deep stress, yaar. Pehle toh chill karo, it happens. But if it's disturbing you or your family, go to a doctor, no? Better to get it checked than worry.

Dude, you're living out your action movie fantasies in your sleep! Honestly, my wife says I talk nonsense sometimes, but screaming? That's next level. Maybe too much stress, bro. Or you're just really passionate about whatever you're dreaming of, haha!

Oh my god, my husband used to do this and I was so worried initially! I thought he was possessed or something dramatic. Turns out he was having night terrors, usually when he was exhausted or stressed. We just ensure he sleeps enough and has a calm evening. It got much better, so don't panic too much!

Are you dreaming about missing out on a delicious biryani or something? Kidding! 😂 But seriously, sometimes very heavy or rich food late at night can give weird dreams. Maybe try a lighter dinner? Or maybe you're just screaming for more gulab jamuns!

Screaming in sleep, huh? Sounds like your subconscious has a lot to say! Maybe you're re-enacting your boss's demands in your dreams. On a serious note, if it's constant, perhaps talk to a doctor. Stress is a real killer, both awake and asleep!

My doctor explained that yelling or screaming during sleep can be a sign of sleep disorders like REM sleep behavior disorder or night terrors, often linked to stress or certain medications. It's not just 'bad dreams.' A sleep specialist can diagnose this through a sleep study (polysomnography) and suggest proper management. It's definitely something to get checked out.

Sometimes, too much heat or spicy food before bed can cause disturbing dreams. You could try some cooling drinks like kokum sherbet or just plain water. Make sure your bedroom is cool and dark. But if you're screaming loudly and it's bothering others, it's better to show a doctor, ji.
