Why do i urinate in my sleep?

My mother-in-law has been having issues with urinating in her sleep sometimes. She's quite old now, but it's new for her. What could be causing this at her age?

Beta, sometimes this happens, especially if you drink too much water before sleeping. Try to have your last drink a couple of hours before bedtime. My दादी used to say, thoda elaichi powder with warm milk helps sometimes, but if it's bothering you much, then doctor ko dikha lena chahiye.

Oh god, mere saath bhi hua hai sometimes! It's so annoying when you wake up feeling like that. Mostly for me it's when I've had too much chai late at night. Sometimes I just wish I could sleep like a baby without any interruptions, haan?

This can happen for many reasons, friend. I have high BP, and sometimes certain meds can increase urination. Also, things like diabetes or even a prostate issue in older men can cause this. Best to get a general checkup, especially blood sugar levels.

This can be quite disturbing for your sleep cycle. Try to reduce your tea/coffee intake in the evenings. And maybe don't drink water right before going to bed. If it's still happening often, ek baar doctor ko dikha lo, might be something simple like a UTI.

For working professionals, sleep is precious, so any disturbance is a problem. Make sure your fluid intake is earlier in the day. If it's a persistent issue, a quick consult with a general physician is the most efficient way to rule out anything serious. No point in self-diagnosing.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! Happens to a lot of people. Have you tried cutting down on fluids right before bed? Also, maybe empty your bladder properly just before you hit the bed. Hope it helps, ya!
