Why do i stop breathing in my sleep?

My wife has told me several times that I sometimes stop breathing for a few seconds in my sleep, then gasp for air. It sounds a bit scary, and she's worried. What could be causing this?

Oh, my neighbour's husband had this issue, and his family was so worried. It's sometimes called 'sleep apnea,' and it can be serious. While elders might suggest some things, for this, you absolutely must see a doctor, preferably a sleep specialist. Please don't delay.

This sounds like classic sleep apnea. You definitely need to get a sleep study done. There are smartwatches and apps that can track sleep patterns and snoring, but for something like this, proper medical diagnosis is crucial. A CPAP machine might be recommended.

Straight up, this is a symptom of sleep apnea, and it can be dangerous if left untreated. Don't take it lightly. You need to consult a doctor, preferably a sleep specialist, and undergo a sleep study. It affects your heart and overall health.

This is not something to ask on a forum, honestly. When your breathing stops, it's a serious medical condition. Go to a good hospital, ask for a sleep specialist, and get a sleep study done immediately. Don't wait.

Hey, that sounds super scary, yaar! But seriously, if you're stopping breathing, that's not something to ignore at all. Don't stress too much about it before talking to a doctor, but make sure you talk to one *very* soon. It's better to be safe and get it properly checked.

Oh no, that sounds really scary! Does this happen without you even realizing it? My friend told me sometimes I snore really loudly and then stop for a few seconds, should I be worried too?
