Why do i slobber in my sleep?

My family complains that I slobber quite a bit in my sleep, enough to sometimes wet the pillow. It's a bit embarrassing, and I'm wondering if this is a common issue and what might cause it.

Oh man, I'd totally overthink this! Slobbering makes me wonder if I'm breathing properly or if something's off. It's often just about sleeping position or a stuffy nose, but for peace of mind, maybe try some nasal strips or consult a doctor if it's constant. Don't stress too much!

Drooling in sleep, or 'slobbering,' is very common and usually nothing to worry about! It happens when you're in a deep, relaxed sleep, and your mouth muscles are relaxed. Sleeping on your side or stomach can make it more likely because of gravity. If you have a blocked nose, you might breathe through your mouth more too.

While drooling can be normal, if it's excessive, causes choking, or is a new development, it's wise to get it checked out. It could point to issues like sleep apnea, sinus problems, or even certain medications. A thorough check-up by an ENT specialist or a general physician at a reputable hospital is advisable to understand the exact cause.

Slobbering can happen when you're super relaxed in deep sleep, or if your nasal passages are a bit blocked, forcing you to mouth breathe. Try making sure your diet is clean, hydrate well, and maybe some light cardio during the day. Sometimes general fitness improvements can help improve sleep quality and reduce such small issues.

Beta, sometimes when we are very tired or in a very deep sleep, this happens. Our elders used to say it means you are truly resting well. If your nose is blocked, try taking steam with ajwain before sleeping. If it is bothering you too much, maybe show to the doctor.

Slobbering during sleep is often due to relaxed facial muscles, sleeping position (especially on your side or stomach), or nasal congestion leading to mouth breathing. While generally benign, if it's consistently excessive or accompanied by other symptoms like choking or very loud snoring, consulting a doctor for professional advice would be a prudent step.
