Why do i hold my breath in my sleep?

My roommate told me that sometimes I hold my breath for a few seconds in my sleep, and then gasp. It's a bit worrying, does this mean something is wrong?

Ah, holding your breath in sleep, eh? My wife says I snore like a truck and sometimes just stop breathing. I tell her I'm just practicing my yoga techniques, but honestly, it can be a sign of sleep apnea. Don't take it lightly like me, go see a doctor, they might recommend a sleep study. Else, you'll just end up making your partner worried like mine.

Oh my god, holding your breath in sleep sounds so scary! My mind would immediately jump to all sorts of terrible conclusions. It's totally understandable to be worried about this. Please, please get it checked by a doctor. They can properly assess if it's sleep apnea or something else and help you find a solution. Don't worry alone.

Feeling like you hold your breath in sleep must be really unsettling and anxiety-inducing. I completely get that feeling of worry when your body does something unusual, especially during sleep. This is something important to discuss with a doctor, ideally a sleep specialist. They can diagnose if it's sleep apnea and guide you on the next steps to ensure you're safe and healthy.

Holding your breath in sleep is a serious symptom. Please do NOT look for remedies online or listen to random advice here. This could be sleep apnea, which has health implications if left untreated. You NEED to see a doctor, a specialist, for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Only trust verified medical professionals for something like this.

That sounds very concerning, and I've been there with sleep issues myself. While I usually try home remedies for smaller things, holding your breath during sleep is something quite serious. I'd definitely recommend seeing a sleep specialist or a general physician first. They might suggest a sleep study to properly understand what's happening. Don't delay on this one.

Yo, my roommate used to do that! He'd randomly stop breathing, then like, gasp. Freaked me out initially. Turns out he had sleep apnea, and he had to get this machine to sleep with. So yeah, don't just ignore it. Go to a doctor and get a sleep study done, for real.

Whoa, that sounds scary! Like, you can't control it, right? My friend said her dad did something similar, and it was called sleep apnea. They had to get a doctor involved. You should definitely get it checked out by a specialist soonest. Don't take chances with breathing!
